In The Trenches: Stories from Two Evolving Agencies, Part 1 from The New Communicators on Vimeo.

In this panel discussion we will dig into the experiences of two local agencies who are actively merging mindsets and skill sets to provide a more complete communication solution set for their clients. Dave Allen (Digital Strategist) and Mark Ray (Executive Creative Director) from North and Dayn Wilberding (Director of Digital Culture) and Andy Askren (Creative Director / Partner) from Grady Britton share their stories of triumph and tragedy as they integrate digital chocolate into their traditional peanut butter.

The goal of this panel, moderated by Erin Kurtz (Experience Director at Substance), is to explore the fundamental differences of creating online communication in relation to broadcast, print etc. and how these teams are reconciling those differences. We will discuss what it means for the brands they work with to exist in the reciprocatory space of the web, how it relates directly to all their communication efforts and we’ll get a glimpse into the day-to-day challenges of two local agencies working to offer a full service solution set to their clients.

Topics covered in this discussion would be of interest to any company or organization who struggle with merging their online communication into their larger messaging framework. Forgive the buzz words. Also, students looking to understand the current challenges within agencies and the skills needed to enter the communication design marketplace.
